The iPhone 15 series is equipped with the A16 Bionic processor, a powerful chip built on a 4-nanometer architecture. It features a 6-core CPU, comprising two high-performance cores and four efficiency cores. The A16 Bionic chip boasts a 16-core neural engine capable of handling approximately 17 trillion operations per second and 4 trillion operations per second. Notably, its high-performance cores consume 20% less power than those of the A15 Bionic chip, while the efficiency cores use only a fraction of the power found in competing chips. Furthermore, the A16 Bionic chip incorporates a customized image signal processor designed to enhance the camera system of the iPhone 15 Pro. While the standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models are expected to utilize the A16 Bionic chip, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models are anticipated to feature the more advanced A17 Bionic chip. Based on a 3nm process, the A17 chip is projected to be approximately 35% more energy-efficient than the current iPhone processors, contributing to extended battery life.
